PAIN MANAGEMENT
Our research delves into understanding the underlying mechanisms, causes, and treatment strategies for various chronic pain conditions. These conditions can significantly impact patients' lives, and our aim is to advance knowledge and improve clinical outcomes through innovative research. Our primary areas of study include:
CHRONIC BACK PAIN
Research on chronic back pain focuses on its multifactorial causes, including postural issues, disc degeneration, and traumatic injury. We investigate novel diagnostic techniques, management strategies, and long-term treatment solutions to help patients manage and alleviate this widespread condition.
SCIATICA
We explore the pathophysiology of sciatica, with a specific focus on how nerve compression or irritation in the lower back leads to radiating pain. Our research aims to discover more effective methods of diagnosis and treatment for sciatica, enhancing patient outcomes with both surgical and non-surgical interventions.
NEUROPATHIC PAIN
Studies on neuropathic pain concentrate on nerve damage or dysfunction, which results in abnormal pain sensations like burning, tingling, and sharp discomfort. Our research investigates the molecular mechanisms behind neuropathic pain, aiming to identify novel therapies to target these nerve abnormalities, offering relief to patients suffering from conditions such as diabetes and nerve injury.
FIBROMYALGIA
Fibromyalgia is a complex, multifactorial condition. Our research focuses on its unclear etiology, including genetic, environmental, and psychological factors, with the goal of improving diagnostic criteria, better understanding the role of central sensitization, and developing new, more effective treatment options.
MIGRAINE AND HEADACHE
Our research into migraines and headaches delves into the neurological and vascular mechanisms behind these conditions. We aim to understand the triggers and pathways that lead to migraine attacks and explore innovative treatments to reduce frequency and intensity, improving the quality of life for sufferers.
OSTEOARTHRITIS PAIN
Research in osteoarthritis pain focuses on the degenerative changes in joint cartilage and the resulting inflammation and pain. We study how the disease progresses and the potential for regenerative therapies to slow cartilage breakdown and restore joint function, particularly in commonly affected areas such as the knees, hips, and hands.
RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PAIN
We are investigating the autoimmune processes behind rheumatoid arthritis, which leads to chronic joint pain, inflammation, and deformities. Our work explores novel disease-modifying treatments that can more effectively manage the symptoms, prevent joint damage, and improve mobility in patients.
CANCER PAIN
Cancer pain research focuses on understanding how both the cancer itself and its treatments (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation) contribute to pain. We aim to develop better pain management strategies, with a focus on precision medicine and personalized treatments to improve quality of life for cancer patients.
POST SURGICAL PAIN
Our research into post-surgical pain examines the mechanisms behind persistent pain following surgery, including the role of nerve damage, inflammation, and delayed healing. We are working on developing advanced pain control protocols and interventions to minimize post-operative discomfort and prevent chronic pain from developing.
CRPS
CRPS is a rare but debilitating condition characterized by severe, burning pain following injury, often accompanied by changes in skin color, temperature, and swelling. Our research aims to better understand its pathophysiology and to identify effective treatments that can halt or reverse the progression of CRPS, providing patients with more effective management options.
